The gasket comprises a corrugated stainless steel core (1.4571) partial graphite layer on either side.
The partial facing reduces the sealing face of the gasket for greater unit load. The sealing system can be used in applications where low stress allowed. The non-faced metallic ring serves for centering the gasket in the flange.
